Summer Work... :)
I've had a lovely summer and am now catching up with all my blog posts.
So over the summer we were given a list of random experiments to try, such as drawing feet with our elbows and walking with a line!!
Here are a few of my pieces.
one piece which we had to do was 'draw shoes using tape'. I had so much fun doing this as it was so freeing as working with tape is so easy as you do not have to wait for glue to dry.
I started by building up the shape with masking tape by folding and layering pieces. I then added detail with brown and electrical tape.

Another piece I enjoyed was 'draw something using stich'. As someone who loves textiles this was a dream experiment- being able to have a play on my sewing machine. I first sketched a sun flower that was in my garden to get an idea of colour and shape, and then I did free machine embroidery onto a piece of calico.
I love doing free machine embroidery because it doesn't matter if you make a mistake you can just re-sew over the top, you also don't use a template or draw out the deign onto fabric. I used 9 colours to create the sun flower. I think it was sucssessful because the colours blend together well and I got the proportions right.
