photography week

I was looking forward to the photography week as I have never studied this medium before.

We started the week by watching a documentary- the genus of photography which gave us an understanding to the history of photography one statement from the program that stood out for me was "its a looking glass world"- I find this phrase so inspiring because the image created using a camera does not tell the hole story and I think this is what this phase says.

As well as doing research we also did particle photography, we made pin hole cameras using a can and have left them out side to record the suns path- we are leaving them for 6 months and I am excited to see how they turn out. we did some quicker pin hole photography and produced our images in the dark room, I have learnt how to develop images negatives and produce positives from them which was interesting and I found that the amount of time you expose the photo paper to the light can have dramatic consequences to how a piece turns out.

Another experiment we did was drawing with light with the camera on a slow shutter we drew shapes with touches in the dark room, and the camera picks up  the lines of the light.  this was really fun and I created different pieces to further develop this technique I would like to experiment with different colours, perhaps by adding a sweet rapper over the touches to make the light change colour.

- drawing around a body

- playing with 2 different coloured lights

- making different shapes

- drawing a face
