Zines
This week our brief was to make a zine to record and promote the work we have created during the exploratory stage. When given the brief at the begging of the week I had never heard of them before, but zines are self- published, non-profit books. They are presented in a unpolished layout unlike a magazine and have an unusual design.
When creating the zines we had to think about different factors including the layout and title, this freedom on how we were each going to present our zines meant each of our zines came out very different.
I decided I wanted to use brown paper to create my zine to make it different so I had to experiment with how the colour was going to come out.

The title as something which took a lot of thought I wanted something which made the readers think and question what it was I have learnt throughout the exploratory stage and why I have chosen to do a foundation year- so for the title I chose "follow your arrow", as for me doing this foundation year is so I can decide what I want to study and do in the future and have a good insight into as many different medias and approaches to art before I go down 1 particular path.
These are my photos of the pages, I chose to do some in black and white and some in colour, and have a common theme running through all pages- with torn maps and arrows, this relates to the fine art week.
I am happy with the final Zine and found this week really fun as it I had never presented my work in this way before, however if I were going to do this again I would add more words and reflection into it as I feel this is an area that was lacking in my zine.
