week 3

This week has been all about drawing, I revisited the Sedwick museum to do more drawings and take photos and from them I have made wire sculptures.

I have tried out some experiments using the wire for example I have used them to make photograms and cyanotypes which I have started to sew into, I have previously sewn into the cyanotypes for the trace elements project so I don't want to repeat this but by sewing onto the photograms interesting layers are created, I think I would like to put another shape onto this print, maybe using a larger scale. But I am pleased with this piece and perhaps like to make a series of these.











As well as continuing with the 'Home' project I have also been to a life drawing class held in Cambridge which was a good opportunity (as well as giving me drawing practise) to try out mixing media. My most sucssessful pieces of the night I feel were made using ink and charcoal as I could use the ink to create expressive marks and get the proportions right and then and the charcoal to add details and tone.

Next week in my project I would like to try felting in the wire and using media the make more three dimensional pieces as I feel this is an area I haven't yet explored in the course.
