Week 4
This week I have spent a lot of time preparing for my university interviews, printing and mounting my work but I have also done a lot of project work building on my previous experiments.
I stitched into my photograms and cyanotypes and added an acetate layer which I like but I want to try something more textured as from my artist research into both Maggi Hambling and Carol Nelson I discovered this is an area I am interested in exploring.
Using my drawings and the shapes created from the wire sutures I have made a test piece using a range of different materials, including wire and string glued into position and modrock, to create different surfaces.

I have painted this test piece using acyclic paint. There are some parts of this piece which I really like- how the wire sticks out of the main piece and how you can sand paper parts away to leave the wood exposed. Doing this piece has got me thinking about connections, and how people both locally around the world are connected which I am going to do further research into next week.
