'Wish you were here'

I begin my university next week and as a starting project we have been given the task of creating a post card from an event we each visit.

I chose to make a postcard from the 'concert in a day' which I attend every year. I love the atmosphere of the event and this what I wanted to show through my post card.
while at the concert I sketched the crowds using fluid lines to get the impression of movement.

I think these sketches have the potential to be turned into some lovely screen prints but due to restrictions in the media I could use, I had to use other materials.

I blocked out shapes in my photos of the day to provide me with a bold background. I tried using overlapping tissue paper but the result I thought looked too clumsy.

 Therefore I tried using the watered down acrylic onto fabric which covered well.
The type is lyrics from a song which was a personal highlight, making this a personal piece.
